About

Hi!

I’m Josephene!

I am a public history master’s student at the University of Colorado Denver. In December 2021, I received my B.A. from Wartburg College (Waverly, IA) where I studied history and English literature.

My research interests are 20th century American social history of the Great Plains and Midwest. Recently, I have researched the treaties signed by the Oceti Sakowin people (Lakota, Dakota, & Nakota). I also worked on a historiography of the 20th century Indian Wars.

I am very excited to present my work on the East High Community History Project with four of my peers at the National Council on Public History’s 2024 Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City. We worked with the high school students to install three new museum exhibits and to establish a cataloging system.
